The AI Board Governance Compass assesses a board’s oversight position based on the responses given. It does not certify compliance with any law, standard or framework, and it does not guarantee any regulatory, insurance or litigation outcome. Its value depends on the candour of the answers it receives.
If we have completed an engagement for your board, you have our permission to use the assessment output, the readout and the governance record without limit inside your organization — in board and committee papers, in minutes, with your counsel, auditors, brokers and insurers, and in diligence. You do not need to ask us first.
That permission covers internal use and disclosure to your own professional advisers. It does not extend to publishing the material commercially or presenting the Compass framework as your own.
The Compass framework, the case study library, and the text and design of this site belong to Vela Board Advisors, LLC. You may read and share pages for your own board’s internal use. You may not republish them commercially, resell them, or build a derivative assessment from them without written permission.
The board case studies on this site are teaching scenarios. Companies, individuals and figures in them are composites written for discussion, not accounts of identifiable organizations, unless a page says otherwise.
We link to regulators, standards bodies, partner organizations and event registration services. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.
